Mike Bosch served as Syracuse softball's head coach for three seasons from 2016-2018. He took leadership in June 2015 as the interim head coach after serving as an assistant coach with the program for three seasons and was appointed head coach in August 2015.
In 2017, Bosch led the Orange to its sixth 30-win season, closing out the year 31-19 and 10-10 in league matchups. The finish in 2017 was the best since 2012 and Bosch’s second consecutive winning season as head coach.
He coached USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top-10 Finalist Sydney O'Hara to a historic season. O'Hara boasted a .476 batting average, .626 on-base percentage and .833 slugging percentage to set new single-season Orange records and lead the nation in batting average and on-base percentage, as well as saves from the pitcher's circle (6). She earned Syracuse softball's first espnW National Player of the Week after hitting four home runs in a single game at NC State to tie an NCAA record and become 1-of-5 to accomplish the feat. As a whole, the Orange broke single-season records in team batting average (.307), hits (433) and on-base percentage (.388).
In his first campaign as head coach, Bosch led the Orange to a 27-26 record in 2016 with a 9-14 record in ACC play.
During the 2015 season at Syracuse, Bosch was primarily responsible for recruiting and serving as the pitching coach. He was also integral in the handling of day-to-day operations, while working with infield, outfield and hitting. He mentored pitcher Jocelyn Cater, who ranked in the top
25 nationally in strikeouts.
Prior to his return in 2014, Bosch was the National Softball Director for Frozen Ropes Inc. in Chester, N.Y. from 2012-13.

In 2011, Bosch was part of a BIG EAST champion Syracuse squad that broke program single-season records for wins, strikeouts, shutouts, opponent batting average and earned run average. He coached Orange All-American Jenna Caira, who earned 2011 BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year and ECAC Pitcher of the Year honors. Syracuse advanced to the NCAA Regionals and the Orange coaching staff was named the NFCA Great Lakes region Coaching Staff of the Year. The Orange returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2012.

As the head coach at Iowa Lakes Community College from 1997 to 2010, Bosch complied a record of 525-236-2 and earned the NFCA Midwest Coaching Staff of the Year in 2006 and 2010. During his tenure, he developed 28 All-Americans and 81 All-Region selections.

In 2008, Bosch led the Lakers to Region XI Championships in 2008 and 2010 and the 2009 squad played for the Region XI title. His 2008 and 2010 teams earned invitations to the NJCAA National Championship, finishing fifth and third, respectively.

Bosch earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from Southwest Minnesota State University in 1990 and completed his master’s degree in mathematics from Mankato State University in 1997. He served as a mathematics professor at Iowa Lakes Community College from 1996-2010 and from 2013-2014.
