Asil Mulbah is in his second season as Syracuse’s director of recruiting operations. He was named to the post by head coach Dino Babers in January 2016.
Mulbah oversees the program’s efforts to identify and attract top high school student-athletes. He maintains the program’s recruit database, develops schedules for official and unofficial visits, assists in creating social media plans to communicate with potential student-athletes, and monitors the academic progress of prospects.
Before joining the Orange, Mulbah was the director of high school relations for head coach Dave Clawson at Wake Forest for two seasons. In addition to working with Clawson at Wake, Mulbah was a member of Clawson’s Bowling Green staff for three years. Mulbah was an academic coordinator and offensive quality control coach for the Falcons from 2010-11 and served as the program’s assistant director of football operations in 2013.
In between, Mulbah spent the 2012 season as the player personnel scouting assistant for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. His duties included assisting in the evaluation of current players and working closely with general manager Gene Smith to evaluate potential free agents.
Mulbah graduated from Fordham University in 2010 with a degree in business administration. He was a starter for the Rams at linebacker from 2006-07 before his playing career was cut short by injury.
