GREENSBORO, N.C. - Syracuse redshirt sophomore guard Trevor Cooney has been selected the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 11 following his efforts in the No. 8/7 Orange's 82-60 win against Cornell last week.
Cooney netted a career-high 27 points on a personal-best 7-of-8 from behind the arc in SU's season-opening win. With Syracuse trailing 31-19 with six minutes to go in the first half, Cooney hit his next three shots from behind the arc to help pull the Orange within six at the break. It was Cooney's three-ball, his sixth of the night, which put SU up for good at 47-45 with just under 15 minutes to go in the game.
In addition to game-high scoring honors, Cooney also led the team with four steals in just 28 minutes of court time.
Cooney and the Orange will host Fordham on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
