SYRACUSE, N.Y. - A season of all-time bests continued for Syracuse women's basketball on Tuesday as it moved up to No. 18 in the USA TODAY Coaches Top 25 Poll, its highest ranking ever in either of the two major polls.
Â
The Orange, with its best record through 24 games in program history at 21-3, moved up three spots in this week's coach's poll. Quentin Hillsman's squad is currently ranked No. 21 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, tying its previous best ranking from Feb. 11, 2008.
Â
SU has been ranked seven-straight weeks in the coaches poll, a program record, and has been in the AP poll for three weeks in a row.
Â
SU is 9-2 in BIG EAST play, its best conference mark in 25 years, heading into Tuesday night's match-up with Rutgers (14-10, 5-6). The Orange will be attempting to deny Scarlet Knight's head coach C. Vivian Stringer her 900th career win. The contest tips at 7 p.m. at Carrier Dome and will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
