The Orange football players showed off their leadership skills this morning, taking part in group military exercises before heading to lunch with the soldiers.
A group of about 50 soldiers instructed the Orange in five Leadership Reaction Challenges at Twin Pines fields. The first was a blindfolded obstacle course where two leaders guided their team from start to finish.
The next stop required the student-athletes to get from one side of web maze to the other without going the same way twice. After this was completed, the team of SU football players did rescue drills, carrying teammates across the field in three different ways.
The teams of about ten players then had to get each other from one side of a course to the other without touching the ground using planks. The final task was pulling an eight ton tank across a parking lot using ropes.
SU will head to Sligh Field later this afternoon for its second practice at Fort Drum.
