Cross Country takes on the Wisconsin Meet of Champions
After a three-week hiatus, the No. 6 Syracuse men and No. 12 Syracuse women return to action this weekend with a pair of meets.
Syracuse will attend the Wisconsin Meet of Champions on Friday and have runners also compete at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday.
Orange to be Tested
- Perhaps the most important regular season meet of the season, the Orange will take part in the Wisconsin Meet of Champions on Friday.
- The meet features the 19 ranked teams on the men's side and 22 ranked teams on the women's side competing.
- 15 of the top-20 teams for both men and women will be in attendance.
Previous Winners
- Both the SU men and women have each won the event previously – which started in 2009.
- The 'Cuse men won the inaugural race, while the women won it in 2010.
-Â Syracuse is still in search of its first individual champion at the meet.
Last Year…
- The men took eighth and the women took 11th at the event.
- Martin Hehir was the top men's finisher at 26th overall, while Margo Malone led all SU women with a 30th place finish.
Princeton Invite Next
- Syracuse will also send a group of runners to the Princeton Invitational the following day.
- More than 50 teams will be in attendance for the meet that begins on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the women's 6k open race kicking things off.
