Orange captains honored by Phil Steele
Senior captains Sean Hickey and Cameron Lynch each earned spots on Phil Steele's ACC midseason awards list on Friday.
Lynch was selected to the Midseason All-ACC First Team Defense and Hickey earned Midseason All-ACC Second Team Offense honors.
Lynch has led the Orange in tackles in all but one of the team's games thus far and ranks 14th nationally in sacks (0.92 per game). He also is the active career leaders with 195 tackles, including a career-high 15 tackles against Villanova in the season opener, which is the most since Dan Vaughan's 15 for SU against Rutgers.
Hickey earned his accolades by anchoring a line that ranks fourth in the nation and tied for first in the ACC in fewest sacks allowed with four. He has started 32 straight games for 'Cuse and is a member of the Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombardi Award Watch Lists.
Hickey, Lynch and the Orange return to action on Saturday when the team takes on Wake Forest at Noon.
Tickets for the Orange's remaining schedule are available online (www.Cuse.com), by phone (888-DOMETIX), at Destiny USA kiosks and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). In addition, discounted group tickets (20+), with prices as low as $10 each, are available for all home games by calling the Ticket Sales office (443-3212).
