
Syracuse men win Wisconsin Adidas Invite

Orange women take 12th at the meet
Nineteen different ranked teams descended upon Madison, Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Friday, and the No. 6 'Cuse men stood above them all, winning the meet and doing so in dominant fashion.
The Orange men won the event for the second time in program history after winning the inaugural event in 2009, finishing with 85 points (59 points ahead of second-place Iona) and showcased its depth by put five runners inside the top-25.

Junior Martin Hehir was again the top-finisher for Syracuse, finishing in seventh overall, completing the 8k course in 23:55. Freshman Justyn Knight took 14th overall in just his second collegiate race (24:05), with Max Straneva (17th/24:06), MJ Erb (23rd/24:09) and Dan Lennon (24th/24:09) rounding out the Orange scoring.
SU finished ahead of No. 14 Iona (154 points), No. 9 Wisconsin (176 points), No. 5 Portland (211 points) and No. 7 Stanford (220 points) who rounded out the top-five and 14 other ranked teams including No. 3 Northern Arizona.
The No. 12 Orange women took 12th at the meet, finishing with 403 points. Junior Margo Malone was the team's top finisher, taking 23rd overall.
Sophomore Sydney Leiher (54th/20:46), senior Jessie Petersen (56th/20:47), junior Maura Linde (105th/21:16) and senior Haley Cutright (165th/21:48) rounded out the Orange scoring.
No. 2 Michigan State won the event with 87 points.
The Orange now looks ahead to the ACC Championships, which comes two weeks from today on Oct. 31st in Charlottesville, Va.
