Orange Takes on Golden Bears in 2K Classic Semis

NEW YORK --Â No. 23 Syracuse returns to Madison Square Garden for the semifinal round of the 2k Classic on Thursday Nov. 20 against California. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. Both teams won their first two contests this season.

The game will be televised on ESPN2 and on ESPN3. Â Fans can listen to the action on the Syracuse IMG Radio Network and its flagship TK99 (99.5 FM). What to Watch For - SyracuseÂ
1. The 2014-15 season marks the 33rd consecutive campaign that Syracuse has played at least once at Madison Square Garden. New York's College Team has played 167 games in the facility with an overall record of 93-74. Under the guidance of head coach Jim Boeheim, the Orange is 75-46 in the historic arena.
2. Syracuse defeated Hampton, 65-47, in the second game of the 2K Classic. Senior forward Rakeem Christmas posted his first double-double of the season with 15 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
3. Freshman guard Chris McCullough reached double figures in scoring for the second time this season with a total of 13 points against Hampton.

What to Watch For - California
1. California enters Thursday's game with a 2-0 record. The Golden Bears have scored more than 90 points in each of its first two games.
2. Junior guard Tyrone Wallace finished with 18 points and nine rebounds to lead California against Kennesaw State in the second game of the 2K Classic. He was one of four Golden Bears to reach double figures in scoring. Sophomore guard Jordan Matthews finished with 18 points in back-to-back games against Alcorn State and Kennesaw State. Last season against Syracuse, he scored 12 points in 22 minutes at the Maui Invitational.
3. Cuonzo Martin is in his first season at the helm of the California program. Previously, Martin served as the head coach at Tennessee and Missouri State.

The Orange will be back in action on Friday against either Iowa or Texas in the 2K Classic. The consolation game tips off at 5 p.m. followed by the championship game at 7 p.m.
