GAME OVERVIEW
• Syracuse closes the 2014 campaign by making its first trip to Boston College since 2004. Kickoff between the Orange and Eagles is slated for 12:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
• The game will be televised on RSN. Wes Durham (pxp), James Bates (analyst) and Jenn Hildreth (sidelines) have the call.
• Syracuse is looking to snap a four-game losing streak and send the senior class out as winners in their final college game.
• Boston College is bowl eligible, but has lost back-to-back games to Louisville and Florida State.
THE BOSTON COLLEGE SERIES
• SU leads the all-time series against Boston College, 29-18.
• The Boston College series is the fifth-most frequent in Syracuse history. It dates back to 1924.
• The Orange has won three of the four meetings dating back to 2003, including a 43-17 win the last time Syracuse visited
Chestnut Hill in 2004.
• That 2004 contest is known in SU lore as 'The Diamond Ferri Game.' Ferri, a defensive back, filled in on offense and rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He also had six tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown to win BIG EAST Offensive AND Defensive Player of the Week honors.
• SU won the first ACC pairing between the two teams, 34-31, last season at the Carrier Dome.
LAST TIME VS. BOSTON COLLEGE
• Terrel Hunt found Josh Parris in the end zone with six seconds left to lift the Orange to a 34-31 victory against the Eagles on Nov. 30, 2013 at the Carrier Dome.
• The winning score was one of two TD catches on the day for Parris, who finished with seven receptions for 47 yards.
• Hunt accounted for three of the Orange's four touchdowns (2 passing, 1 rushing). He completed a career-high 29 passes for 270 yards and added another 90 yards rushing.
• The Orange defense limited Andre Williams, the nation's leading rusher at the time, to 38 yards on nine carries. Williams left the game with an injury in the first half and did not return.
SYRACUSE-BOSTON COLLEGE CONNECTIONS
• The Orange features 2 players from Massachusetts – Clay Cleveland (Boxford) and Rony Charles (Medford).
• Boston College has four New York players on its roster – Sherman Alston (Harlem), Josh Keyes (Ghent), Griff Rogan (Garden City), Tyler Rouse (Baldwinsville), Will Mahar (Rochester) and Jack Bramswig (Pleasantville).
• 'Cuse S Eric Anthony, CB Joe Stanard, OG Nick Robinson and Boston College RB Tyler Rouse all attended C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, N.Y.
• Second-year Boston College head coach Steve Addazio was an assistant at SU from 1995-98. He coached the offensive line and tight ends during his tenure.
• Addazio's son, Louie, spent two years (2011-12) as a tight end at Syracuse before transferring to join his father at BC.
• Boston College Assistant AD for Operations and Player Personnel Reggie Terry spent 14 years as a member of the Orange football staff, including seven as the director of operations. He is a 1993 SU graduate and was a three-year (1991-93) letterwinner at linebacker.
A WIN AGAINST BOSTON COLLEGE WOULD …
• Be SU's 709th all-time victory, the 17th-most wins among FBS schools.
• Break the Orange's four-game losing streak.
• Be the Orange's second in a row and fourth in the last five games against the Eagles.
• Make the Orange 3-2 in true road games this season.
• Improve Scott Shafer's coaching record against the Eagles to 2-0.
