'Cuse men's soccer team ranked No. 1 for the first time in school history
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – For the first time in program history, the Syracuse University men's soccer team is ranked No. 1 in the nation. The Orange garnered the top spot in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, released on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Syracuse received 11 first-place votes and 579 total points to edge out No. 2 Indiana (9 first-place votes, 555 points).

"This is obviously a big day for our program," Syracuse head coach Ian McIntyre said. "It's a great reward for all of the hard work everyone associated with this team has put in during the course of the year. Now we look forward and get ready to embrace the challenge of postseason play."

Syracuse is 14-2-1 overall and won a share of the ACC Atlantic Division title with a 5-2-1 conference record. The No. 2 seed for the upcoming ACC Men's Soccer Championship, the Orange will host either NC State or Duke in the quarterfinal round on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Men's soccer is the fifth Orange program since 2012 to be ranked No. 1, joining the men's basketball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and field hockey teams.
