Orange to Face Eight Preseason Top 10 Teams in 2015

Syracuse starts the season with seven consecutive home games.
2015 Schedule
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – For the third consecutive year, the Syracuse women's lacrosse team will face three Final Four teams in 2015. Eight of the preseason top 10 teams are on the slate for the upcoming season, including defending national champion and preseason No. 1 Maryland.

The Orange, the 2014 national runner-up, will play 13 of its 19 regular-season contests against teams that competed in last year's NCAA Tournament, including the other seven quarterfinalists. Syracuse opens the season with a doubleheader in the Carrier Dome featuring Denver and Canisius on Feb. 7. Canisius returns to the Dome on Feb. 15 when the Orange will face the Golden Griffins as well as Presbyterian.

The homestand continues when Syracuse opens Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play against Virginia on Feb. 23 in a rematch of last year's national semifinal. Connecticut (Feb. 25) and Boston College (Feb. 28) also visit the Dome before the Orange goes on the road for the first time to face Maryland on Mar. 7. The Terrapins were the only team to defeat SU last season.

Syracuse travels to Florida to face the Gators on Mar. 10 and Harvard in Orlando on Mar. 14. The Orange then returns home to face Central New York foe Cornell on Mar. 17 before two consecutive road games at Northwestern (Mar. 22) and Duke (Mar. 28).

After home dates with Virginia Tech (Apr. 4) and Notre Dame (Apr. 7), Syracuse closes out ACC play at North Carolina (Apr. 11) and Louisville (Apr. 16). The Orange hosts Albany on Apr. 19 before going to Charlottesville, Va. for the ACC Tournament (Apr. 23-26). The Orange goes on the road for its regular-season finale against Loyola on May 2.

Syracuse advanced to the national championship game last season for the second time in three years. The Orange won a school-record 21 games and claimed a share of the ACC regular-season title in its first year in the league.
