CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Brianna Butler scored 25 points, tying her career high with seven 3-pointer, to lead Syracuse women's basketball (18-8, 7-6 ACC) to a 71-47 victory at Boston College (12-15, 3-10 ACC) on Sunday afternoon.

Butler shot 7-of-14 from 3-point range, one shy of the school record, leading the Orange's 13-of-29 (44.8 percent) effort behind the arc. La'Shay Taft was 4-of-7 from long range for 12 points and Rachel Coffey was 2-of-5 on her way to 10 points to go along with her game-high six assists.

Brittney Sykes scored 14 points, giving SU four players in double figures.

Syracuse shot 46.6 percent overall, including 57.1 percent in the first half when it took control of the game. Boston College shot 46.2 percent overall, including 8-of-18 from 3-point range.

The Orange forced 18 BC turnovers, resulting in 28 points, while turning it over a season-low six times.

Emilee Daley led the Eagles with 13 points.

The ÂÂÂOrange jumped out of the gates strong, taking a 9-2 lead in the first four minutes, led by four points from Leary and a 3-pointer by Butler.

Butler's hot shooting carried SU through the early portion of the game. The sophomore hit three of her first four attempts behind the arc, the third coming at the 11:49 mark, giving the Orange a 19-9 lead.

Syracuse took a 43-25 lead into halftime after shooting 57.1 percent in the opening half, including 9-of-15 from 3-point range. Butler led the way with 18 points of 6-of-9 shooting behind the arc, while La'Shay Taft was 2-of-3 from long range.

The Orange lead continued to grow in the second half. SU took its largest lead of the game, 31, on a Taylor Ford put-back with 12:41 remaining, making it 59-28.
Coffey's six assists give her 405 in the senior's career, becoming the 10th player in program history to reach 400.

Syracuse returns to action on Thursday when it plays at Miami in a 7 p.m. tip-off.
