
Fair and Ennis Named Player of the Year Finalists

Ennis also named a finalist for Freshman of the Year
ST. LOUIS -- Senior C.J. Fair and freshman Tyler Ennis are among the 15 finalists for the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Year Trophy. Ennis is also one of six finalists for the Integris Wayman Tisdale Freshman of the Year Award. Both lists were announced by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).
Fair leads the team and ranks seventh in the ACC in scoring, averaging 16.5 points per game. In addition, he ranks 10th in the league in field goal percentage (.434). Fair has reached double figures in scoring in 26 of 28 games this season and two double-doubles. He ranks sixth in the nation and second in the ACC in minutes played.
Ennis ranks sixth in the nation in assists/turnover ratio and lead the ACC in assists (5.61 apg) and steals (2.14 spg). He has dished out nine assists in four games this season. Ennis is one of four players averaging double figures in scoring, contributing 12.0 points per game.
Members of the USBWA board of directors chose the finalists and the entire 975-member USBWA will vote on the awards. The Oscar Robertson Trophy recipient will be announced on Friday, April 4 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Integris Wayman Tisdale Award winner will be announced on Monday, March 31.
