
Trio Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

2014 Tewaaraton Award Watch List
NEW YORK – Seniors Alyssa Murray and Katie Webster and sophomore Kayla Treanor have been named to the 2014 Tewaaraton Awards watch list. The list includes student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions who are contenders for the award, which goes to the nation's top collegiate player.
Murray was a finalist for last year's award after leading the Orange in goals (64) and assists (40). This season, she ranks ninth in the country in points, eighth in assists and 11th in goals. Murray has 24 points on 15 goals and nine assists through five games this season.
Webster posted a hat trick in Syracuse's win at No. 10 Boston College on Wednesday, giving her eight goals this season. She also has two assists for 10 points. Webster was named to the IWLCA All-America Third Team in 2012 when she recorded 56 points on 41 goals and 15 assists.
Treanor leads the team with 32 points on 18 goals and 14 assists this season. She ranks third in the nation in points and assists and fifth in goals. Treanor became the school's first freshman to earn first-team All-America honors last season when she recorded 95 points on 71 goals and 24 assists. She is the highest scoring freshman in school history.
Additions to the watch list will be announced on March 20 and April 10. The field will be narrowed down to 25 nominees on April 24. Five women's and men's finalists will be announced on May 8 and will be invited to the May 29 ceremony in Washington D.C.
