Glanell Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse senior Natalie Glanell is this week's ACC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Orange defeat Harvard (17-4) and No. 7/8 Northwestern (11-7).
The SU defense posted a 5.5 goals-against average in the pair of victories. Glanell collected six caused turnovers as the Orange recorded 13 in each game. Against Northwestern, she was instrumental in holding the Wildcats' leading scorer, Alyssa Leonard, without a goal and to just one shot in the game. In addition, Glanell anchored Syracuse's defense that held Northwestern scoreless for 19:46 as the Orange broke a 6-6 tie with a 4-0 scoring run to take a 10-6 lead.
In 10 games this season, the senior defender has tallied 14 ground balls, seven caused turnovers and three draw controls.
Up next for Glanell and the Orange is No. 8/9 Duke on Saturday March 29 at 3 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
