Kevin Rice Shares ACC Offensive Player of the Week Award

Junior attackman has a point in every game this season
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse attackman Kevin Rice was named the Atlantic Coast Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, April 1. He shared the honor with North Carolina's Joey Sankey.

Rice tied his career high with four goals and added two assists to lead Syracuse to its first Atlantic Coast Conference victory, 11-10, over No. 7 Notre Dame on Saturday. Three of his four goals came in the second half, including the game-winner with 2:05 to play. Rice has at least one goal in seven straight games and at least one point in the last nine contests dating back to last season.

Sankey scored a career-high five goals en route to a seven-point day in UNC's 13-9 win at Johns Hopkins.

For the third time this year, ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors went to Maryland goaltender Niko Amato. Amato made 10 saves to lead the Terps to a 9-6 home triumph against Virginia.

Syracuse returns to action Wednesday, April 2 when it faces Binghamton at 7 p.m. at the Carrier Dome. The game will be televised live locally on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
