SU Adds Carrington to Recruiting Class

New Jersey star brings attacking style to Syracuse.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange head coach Ian McIntyre announced the addition of Troy Carrington Jr. to the team's 2014 recruiting class on Monday, April 7. Carrington joins Danny Apajee, Julian Buescher, Liam Callahan, Patrick Castle, Spencer Kopko and Korab Syla as newcomers to the program.
"Troy is a versatile attacking player that has a proven track record of scoring goals at the youth level," said McIntyre. "He has been recognized as one of the top forwards in the state of New Jersey and I look forward to seeing what he can bring to our program."
Carrington was ranked the No. 138 player in the country by College Soccer News. In addition, he was ranked the No. 116 player in TopDrawerSoccer.com's Top 150 and he's the 16th-ranked player from New Jersey. Carrington has attended several U.S. Soccer National Training Centers and was named to the U.S. Soccer National Championship Best XI in 2011.
At the club level, Carrington competes for the SDFC Gauchos out of Montclair, N.J. He played scholastically for Verona High School.
