
Mancz Promoted to Assistant Stength & Conditioning Coach

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse University assistant athletics director for athletic performance Will Hicks promoted Matt Mancz to serve as the top assistant for football on his staff. Mancz, who has been an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Syracuse since 2012, will continue to serve as the primary strength coach for the Orange men's and women's lacrosse teams.
The 2012 SUNY Cortland graduate joined the Syracuse conditioning staff as an intern in the Spring of 2012 and was promoted to assistant coach in August 2012. During that time Mancz assisted with the football program and was responsible for the men's and women's lacrosse teams. In his two years at Syracuse, the football team won the 2012 New Era Pinstripe Bowl and the 2013 Texas Bowl and both lacrosse squads advanced to the Final Four. The 2013 Orange men advanced to the NCAA Championship game, while the Orange women played in the 2014 National Championship game.
Mancz, who earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology, was a member of the Cortland football team in 2009 and 2010. He is a certified as a strength and conditioning specialist (C.S.C.S) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
