SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse will open its 2014-15 men's basketball season with exhibition games against Carleton (Canada) and Adrian (Mich.). The Orange will host the Ravens on November 2 and the Bulldogs on Nov. 10, both in the Carrier Dome.
Carleton owns the most accomplished program in the Canadian basketball ranks. The Ravens have won four straight Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) crowns and the national championship in 10 of the last 12 seasons. Carleton has posted a 292-14 record since 2000. Syracuse and Carleton played an exhibition game in August 2013 and the Orange emerged, 69-65, in overtime.
Adrian, an NCAA Division III program, was 5-20 a season ago. It marked the first time in Coach Mark White's five-year tenure that the Bulldogs were below .500.
SU earned its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and finished with a 28-5 overall record, last season. The Orange won 25 straight games to start the season and was ranked first in both national polls for three weeks.
Coach Jim Boeheim, owner of the second most coaching victories in Division 1 history (948), will guide his alma mater for the 39th season.
