NBA Summer League Starts Saturday

Three former Syracuse men's basketball performers -- Jerami Grant, Donte Greene and Arinze Onukau -- are expected to take the court when the 2014 NBA Summer League gets underway in Orlando on Saturday, July 5.
Ten NBA clubs will participate in Orlando. Grant, a second-round draft choice of the Philadelphia 76ers, is scheduled to play, as are Greene (Brooklyn) and Onuaku (Indiana). Greene was a first-round pick of the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008. He spnt four seasons with the Sacramento Kings before an injury cost him the 2012-13 campaign. He spent last season in China with the Dongguan Leopards and avergaed 19.6 points and 7.8 rebounds in 41 games. Onuaku started last fall with the New Orleans Pelicans before spending time with the Canton Charge of the NBADL. He averaged 14.8 points and 10.1 rebounds in 32 games before earning a call-up to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Orlando portion of the summer league runs from July 5 - 11 at the Amway Center. Brooklyn and Indiana open league play on July 5 at 9:00 a.m. Orlando faces Philadelphia at 1:00 p.m.
Summer-league play continues in Las Vegas with 20 NBA clubs represented and contests scheduled for July 11 - 15.
