SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse is scheduled to host Colgate for the 22nd straight season, welcoming the Raiders to the Carrier Dome on Monday, December 22.
The pairing will be the 167th meeting between the two Central New York rivals. Syracuse owns a 48-game winning streak in the series, including last year's 69-50 triumph. It is the longest active consecutive victory stretch in the Division I ranks.
Colgate coach Matt Langel is in his fourth season as head coach. The Raiders were 13-18 overall and 6-12 in the Patriot League last season. Colgate features junior guard Austin Tillotson, who averaged 13.3 points and 4.4 assists per game last season.
Syracuse has a 121-45 advantage in the all-time series with Colgate. The two teams first met on January 15, 1902.
SU earned its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and finished with a 28-5 overall record, last season. The Orange won 25 straight games to start the season and was ranked first in both national polls for three weeks.
Coach Jim Boeheim, owner of the second most coaching victories in Division I history (948), will guide his alma mater for the 39th season.
Deposits for 2014-15 men's basketball season tickets are on sale now for only $125 each, and provide priority seating before the general public on-sale which starts on September 3. Individual game tickets will go on sale in mid-October.
