Home Sweet Dome: 2015 Football Orange Open with Four Straight Home Games
1/29/2015 9:58:00 AM | Football
The 2015 Syracuse football team will host four games in the Carrier Dome to open the season, beginning with a contest against Rhode Island on September 5. The Orange will then open the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule against Wake Forest on September 12. Syracuse will welcome Central Michigan (Sept. 19) and Louisiana State (Sept. 26) to the Carrier Dome to close out the home non-conference schedule. After a bye week on October 3, the final out-of-conference game will be at South Florida on October 10.
                   Â
Syracuse's ACC schedule includes home games against Pittsburgh (Oct. 24), Clemson (Nov. 14) and Boston College (Nov. 28) and road contests at Virginia (Oct. 17), Florida State (Oct. 31), Louisville (Nov. 7) and North Carolina State (Nov. 21).
                   Â
"We look forward to opening our season with four games at home in the Carrier Dome with Orange Nation," said head coach Scott Shafer. "Our team is already back to work preparing for 2015. We are excited to start our Spring football workouts on February 22 in the Ensley Athletic Center."
                   Â
Fans are invited to get a preview of the team at the annual Spring game on Saturday, April 4 at the Carrier Dome.
                   Â
"Clearly, this is one of the best schedules we've had for a variety of reasons – and extremely exciting given the opportunities it gives our team and fans," said Syracuse Athletics Director Daryl Gross. "Four home games out of the gate – including a league game and LSU making an appearance at the Carrier Dome – will certainly put us on center stage. It's the kind of schedule that can elevate a program, create some important relevancy and encourages our fans to be involved and make a difference in the outcome of these matchups."
                              Â
New 2015 season tickets are on sale now at the Carrier Dome Box Office, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and online. Fans can place a $75 deposit for new season tickets and select a location after the renewal deadline for current season ticket holders. Renewal information for current season ticket holders will be mailed soon.
