Obokoh and Piacentini Earn Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Syracuse, N.Y. – Men's basketball student-athlete Chinonso Obokoh and ice hockey student-athlete Melissa Piacentini are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week. Piacentini is a junior psychology major, while Obokoh is a sophomore arts and sciences major.
Piacentini is the leading goal scorer for the Orange this season, with 10 goals through the first-20 contests and ranks third on the team in total points with 13. She finished the first half of the season with a plus-3 rating.
Obokoh has played in six games for the Orange this season, hauling in 10 rebounds during those contests and averaging nearly two points per game while yet to miss a shot on the season.
Both student-athletes will be in action this week as the men's basketball team will travel to Georgia Tech on Wednesday before returning home to host Florida State on Sunday. Piacentini and the ice hockey team will return to the ice for the first time in a month as it starts the second half of its season on Tuesday at Colgate before traveling to North Dakota for a weekend pair beginning on Saturday.
