Syracuse received 36 of 49 first-place votes
Following a 6-0 win over No. 6 Wake Forest and a 4-2 win over No. 19 Princeton last weekend, the Syracuse field hockey team remained No. 1 in the NFHCA poll for the third-straight week.
The Orange (15-0, 5-0 ACC) will play in its final regular season contest of the year on Saturday at No. 4 Duke at 1 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN3.
The top-five remained stagnant for the third-straight week as well, behind the Orange (961 points, 36 first-place votes) is UConn (911 points, 12 first-place votes), North Carolina (885 points, 1 first-place vote), Duke (756 points) and Virginia (741 points).
Syracuse, which is off to its best start in program history, has already defeated nine programs represented in this week's NFHCA poll, including five ACC teams.
All-seven ACC teams are once again ranked in the poll. Outside of Syracuse, North Carolina, Duke and Virginia, who are all ranked in the top-five are No. 7 Wake Forest, No. 8 Louisville and No. 14 Boston College.
