Five student-athletes, including four who earned first team honors for the Syracuse field hockey team after they earned the first National Championship in program history this year.
'Cuse had three student-athletes honored by the NFHCA and three more on the Synapsesports.com All-America first teams, with senior Alyssa Manley earning first-team honors in each.
The 2015 ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Manley is just the fourth player in program history to earn All-America honors three times in her career after receiving the honor from 2013-15. Manley was also the only collegiate field player to represent the United States at the Pan American games this summer, scoring a goal in the semifinal and helping the U.S. qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
Joining Manley on the SynapseSports first team were back Roos Weers and forward Alma Fenne.
Weers, who earned ACC Rookie of the Year, was also named SynapseSports Rookie of the Year after tallying 37 points on the season, which was third on the team behind fellow All-Americans Fenne and Emma Russell.
Fenne, the ACC Offensive Player of the Year, led the Orange with 47 points on her way to earning All-America honors.
Russell, who broke Syracuse's all-time scoring record in the NCAA Championship game, finished the season with 37 points and 15 goals, earning NFHCA first team and SynapseSports second team All-America honors.
Fellow midfielder Laura Hurff was also named to the NFHCA first team after finishing the season with nine points and was recently selected as a U21 test series player with the U.S. national team for its series with Japan.
The Orange finished the season 21-1 en route to capturing the first National Championship by any women's team in Syracuse University history.
