Following winning the program's first National Championship since 1951 and earning the first men's cross country championship by any ACC institution, Syracuse sophomore Justyn Knight and head coach Chris Fox were named as the ACC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Year and ACC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year, respectively.
Fox has earned the honor all-three years that the Orange has competed in the conference, having won three-straight ACC titles and six conference titles in the last-seven seasons.
Already named USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year previously this season, The 11th-year head coach of the Orange has built the team into a perennial contender, leading the squad to three-straight top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, when the Orange hadn't finished in the top-10 at nationals since 1957 prior to his arrival.
The Orange saw a program-record four student-athletes earn All-America honors this season, with Knight, Colin Bennie, Martin Hehir and Philo Germano earning the accolade for their top-40 individual performances at the championship meet.
In addition to this year's NCAA Championship, Fox has guided the Orange to nine NCAA Northeast Regional Championships and six conference titles, with each serving as the only such honors in program history.
The squad that competed in the NCAA Championship for Fox this season went undefeated, winning the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown and Wisconsin Adidas Invitational during the regular season as well.
Under Fox's tutelage, the women's program also experienced tremendous success this year, finishing 12th at the NCAA Championships.
Knight, led the Orange in every race he competed in this season, including a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships to earn All-America honors. Knight paced a program-best three runners inside the top-10 at the meet.
The Vaughn, Ontario native finished second at the ACC Championships, and Wisconsin Adidas Invitational, while winning the NCAA Northeast Regional, and Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown this season.
Notre Dame senior and NCAA Individual Champion Molly Seidel and Virginia's Todd Morgan swept the women's performer and coach of the year honors in the ACC respectively.
