Orange's Tough Schedule Continues Tuesday at Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Syracuse's run of facing three top 15 teams in four games continues Tuesday, Feb. 24 when the Orange travels to the Midwest to face No. 9/8 Notre Dame. The squads will tip off at 8 p.m.

What to Watch For – Syracuse (17-10, 8-6)
1. Senior Rakeem Christmas needs just four points to become the 59th player in program history to record 1,000 career points. He has recorded 996 points in 138 career games. This season he leads the team and ranks second in the ACC in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game.
2. Syracuse's defense continues to be one of the best in the ACC. The Orange ranks fifth in the league in scoring defense, allowing 63.0 points per game. In addition, Syracuse is third in blocked shots (5.30 bpg.) and second in steals (8.19 spg.).
3. Sophomores B.J. Johnson and Ron Patterson made key contributions off the bench against Pittsburgh. Johnson was 3-for-4 from three-point range and 2-for-2 from the free throw line for 11 points against the Panthers. Patterson was 4-for-5 from the field, including 1-for-1 from behind the arc for nine points.

What to Watch For – Notre Dame (24-4, 12-3)
1. Notre Dame comes into Tuesday's game on a three-game winning streak, which has improved its record to 24-4. The Fighting Irish are in second place in the ACC standings with a 12-3 league record.
2. Jerian Grant leads a balanced offense for Notre Dame, averaging 17.0 points per game. Pat Connaughton (13.1 ppg.), Zach Auguste (12.7 ppg.) and Demetrius Jackson (12.5 ppg.) also average double figures in scoring for the second-highest scoring offense in the ACC. Grant leads the league in assists (6.54 apg.) and is fifth in steals (1.86 spg.).
3. Mike Brey is in his 15th year at the helm of the Notre Dame program. Previously he served as the head coach at Delaware. In 19 seasons as a head coach, Brey has guided his teams to three conference titles.

Syracuse leads the all-time series with Notre Dame, 26-19. The Orange has won the last two meetings between the schools and six of the last seven.
