Kayla Treanor Earns Preseason All-ACC Honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse and North Carolina tied for the top spot in the ACC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll released on Tuesday, Feb. 3. In addition, junior Kayla Treanor was selected to the Preseason All-ACC Team.

The Orange and Tar Heels each received four first-place votes and earned 59 points in a vote by the league's eight head coaches. Two points separated the third-, fourth- and fifth-place finishers in the poll. Duke was picked third with 40 points, while Virginia was right behind in fourth position with 39 votes. Boston College came in fifth with 38 points. Notre Dame (29 points) was picked to finish sixth, followed by Louisville (16 points) and Virginia Tech (8 points).

Treanor is the reigning ACC Offensive Player of the Year and a two-time IWLCA First Team All-American. She led the nation in scoring last season with 117 points and was second in goals with a school-record 79. Treanor was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award as well as the Honda Award. The All-ACC First Team honoree was also a member of the NCAA and ACC All-Tournament teams. Treanor ranks seventh on Syracuse's all-time scoring list (212 points) and is sixth in career goals (150) and tied for seventh in career assists (62).

The Orange opens the season Saturday, Feb. 7 in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse takes on Denver at noon and Canisius at 7:30 p.m.
