Orange Opens 2015 Campaign With Pair of Games Saturday

For the first time in school history, Syracuse will play two games on one day during the regular season.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse women's lacrosse takes the field for the first time in 2015 on Saturday, Feb. 7 for a pair of games in the Carrier Dome. The third-ranked Orange host No. 20 Denver at noon and will come back at 7:30 p.m. to face Canisius.

Saturday's contests are part of a tripleheader with the SU men's lacrosse team, which faces Siena at 4 p.m. Individual game tickets for all Syracuse women's lacrosse home games can be purchased for $5. Fans can purchase a "Lax Pack" ticket package for $25, which includes 10 general admission tickets that can be used as a season ticket or as a group ticket package. Fans who enter the Carrier Dome after halftime of the women's game will be charged for a men's tickets ($10). Tickets are available online at Cuse.com and at the Carrier Dome Box Office located at Gate B.

Syracuse is coming off a record-breaking season in 2014. The Orange won a school-record 21 games and advanced to the national championship game for the second time in the past three years. Syracuse returns five of its top seven scorers from last season when SU led the nation in scoring. Junior Kayla Treanor (Niskayuna, N.Y.) led the squad and the nation with 117 points in 2014. After two season, she ranks seventh on Syracuse's all-time scoring list and is sixth in career goals (150) and tied for seventh in career assists (62).

Denver and Canisius each won their conference titles last season and earned automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. Denver defeated Jacksonville in the first round before losing to Florida in the quarterfinals. Canisius lost to Pennsylvania in the opening round.

Syracuse will face Denver for the second time in school history. The Orange defeated the Pioneers, 16-11, in the only other meeting between the two schools. Syracuse is 2-0 all-time against Canisius.
