
Men's Rowing Ranks 14th in Preseason Poll

Opens seasons against No. 11 Wisconsin on April 11
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University men's rowing team's varsity eight crew was ranked No. 14 nationally in the Preseason USRowing Collegiate Poll, as announced on March 25. It marks the team's highest appearance in the rankings since last season's preseason poll, when the Orange was ranked No. 13 in the country.

Syracuse's conference, the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges, dominates the preseason poll, with 14 league teams ranked in the top 20. In addition, eight of the top 10 crews in the nation are in the Orange's conference.

Last season, Syracuse debuted as the No. 13 crew in the nation. At the completion of the regular season, the boat was ranked No. 18 in the country. At the 2014 IRA National Championship, the Orange placed 16th, out-performing its seeding by two positions.

The team will begin racing on Saturday, April 11 when it hosts No. 11 Wisconsin. Its race against the Badgers marks the first of three home races in April and May.Â
