
Emerich and Collins Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Both teams return to action on Saturday in activities filled afternoon
Football's Jason Emerich and women's lacrosse's Devon Collins are the Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Emerich, a junior sport management and physical education and coaching major, played five games on the Orange's offensive line last season. He and the football team will return to action on Saturday in the program's annual spring game, in which fans can catch their first glimpse of the 2015 Orange.
Collins, a senior finance major, has 11 points through the team's first-12 games, including a four-point outing in the Orange's win over Denver earlier this season. Collins and the Orange will return to action on Saturday as well, playing its first game at the Carrier Dome in three weeks against Virginia Tech.
The women's lacrosse game will begin at 10 a.m., with football's spring game taking place at 1 p.m. Admission and parking is free to both events and there will be a multitude of events for fans to enjoy in addition to the games.
Fans will receive a coupon for a free Dome Dog and Pepsi that they can use at Carrier Dome concession stands, Select-A-Seat will also be happening during the women's lacrosse contest. Fans will have an opportunity to sit in various seats around the Dome to pick what seats they'd most like for the upcoming football season, this begins at 10 a.m.
In addition, DJ Maestro, the marching band, cheerleaders, dance team and Otto will be providing entertainment throughout the day and there will be opportunities for fans to interact with coach Shafer and the football team as well.
