Butler Garners All-ACC Academic Honors

Second career honor for the junior guard
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior guard Brianna Butler of the Syracuse University women's basketball team has been named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team. It marks the second straight year Butler has earned such honors.

The junior guard is enrolled in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics and is a sport management major. She earned Syracuse Student-Athlete of the Week accolades on Dec. 18, 2014 and has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll four times in her collegiate career.

This season was a record-breaking one for the King of Prussia, Pa. native. Butler shattered the Syracuse career 3-point field goals record, previously held by Julie McBride (229 from 2001-04). She has made 241 3-point field goals in 94 games played. In addition, she became the 24th player in program history to break the 1,000 point plateau. Butler now has 1,108 points in her collegiate career, which ranks 18th in program history.

On the year, Butler averages 13.3 points per game for the Orange, which ranks second on the team. She also ranks third on the club in assists (1.63 assists per game) and steals (1.53 steals per contest.
