Bachini and Wardwell Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Each plays in their final home contest this week
Tennis' Breanna Bachini and men's lacrosse's Bobby Wardwell are the Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Bachini, a senior majoring in communication and rhetorical studies with a minor in nutrition, has played in every match this season for the Orange, alternating between the No. 4 and No. 5 spots. Most recently, she and partner Nicole Mitchell sealed the doubles point for the Orange in a 4-3 loss to Wake Forest.
Wardwell, a senior information management and technology major, has started every game in net for the 8-2 Orange. Wardwell has six games with 10-or-more saves on the year, including a season-best 12-save effort in a 17-12 win over Albany on April 2. Wardwell has a .524 save percentage on the season.
Bachini and Wardwell will both be playing in their final regular-season home events of their careers this week, with the men's lacrosse hosting in-state rival Hobart on Tuesday at 7 p.m., and the tennis team hosting NC State on Friday at 2 p.m. and Georgia Tech for senior day on Sunday at 11 a.m.
