Pollitt and Crittenden Advance to NCAA Quarterfinals

Donald Pollitt and Freddie Crittenden each advanced to Saturday's NCAA Quarterfinals in the 110-meter hurdles on day two of the NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary in Jacksonville, Fla.
Crittenden and Pollitt qualified in seventh and 24th respectively, with the field being cut to 12 participants for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon following tomorrow's races.
Shaina Harrison ran a strong race in the women's 100-meter hurdles quarterfinal on Friday, ultimately coming up just 0.003 seconds shy of the No. 12 qualifying spot for the NCAA Championships and finishing in 13th place.
Sydney Leiher was the fourth member of the Orange to compete on Friday, racing in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Leiher posted a time of 10:25.51, which fell short of a qualifying mark.
Four Syracuse student-athletes already qualified on day one of the regional, with more looking to join them, including standout freshman Justyn Knight, who is seeded No. 2 in the 5k on Saturday.
Action will once again get underway at 5 p.m.
