'Cuse field hockey rising senior earns gold at Pan Am Games
TORONTO -Â Syracuse University field hockey rising senior Alyssa Manley earned a gold medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games on Friday night, when she helped the United States defeat Argentina, 2-1.

Manley, who scored in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Canada to help the U.S. advance to the gold-medal game, played in every contest as a reserve.

The Lititz, Pa. native helped the United States maintain a clean sheet for all-but 12 minutes of the tournament, outscoring its opponents by a combined margin of 39-1, with the lone goal coming in the 58th minute of the final game.

Manley was a First-Team All-American in 2014 after leading the team to its first NCAA title game appearance. She is the ninth Orange in program history to earn multiple All-America honors.

The Orange are just over one month from opening the 2015 campaign, with Syracuse set to kick the year off on Aug. 28 at Stanford. For more information on the team, follow @CuseFH on Twitter.
