SYRACUSE, N.Y.- After recently graduating from Syracuse in 2015, former women's ice hockey player Allie LaCombe agreed to terms with the Vienna Sabres of the Elite Women's Hockey League, the team announced on Tuesday.
LaCombe played four years with the Orange, tallying 27 goals and 21 assists for a total of 48 points. Last season, LaCombe led the nation in faceoff percentage, dominating opponents at the dot.
"I am extremely excited for this opportunity and looking forward to continuing my hockey career in Austria with the Vienna Sabres," said LaCombe.
With the Orange, LaCombe saw action in a total of 129 games, which included a program-high eight game-winning goals. As a senior, LaCombe helped the Orange get to the CHA championship before falling to RIT by a final score of 2-1 in double overtime.
LaCombe will join the Sabres next week to get geared up for a tournament in Brezno, Slovakia.
"It's a dream come true to have the opportunity to keep playing," said LaCombe. "I'm thankful to continue to do what I love."
