'Cuse star is sixth nationally in receiving yardage
MOBILE, Ala. – Orange wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo has received an invitation to participate in the 68th Reese's Senior Bowl. Etta-Tawo is the 57th Syracuse standout to earn an invitation to college football's most prestigious all-star game.
Etta-Tawo leads the Atlantic Coast Conference and ranks in the top 10 nationally in receiving yards (1,158), receiving yards per game (128.7) and receptions per contest (8.3). He is also third in the league with seven TD receptions and fourth in the conference in all-purpose yards per game (126.7).
The Powder Springs, Ga. native recently became the owner of Syracuse's two most prestigious single-season receiving marks – most catches and most yards. He surpassed Marvin Harrison's 1995 yardage record (1,131) and Alec Lemon's single-season catch standard (72) at Clemson on Nov. 5.
Etta-Tawo's success hasn't gone unnoticed. ESPN ranked him No. 33 on its list of this year's top 50 college football players, ahead of more household names like LSU's Leonard Fournette and Houston's Greg Ward Jr. Etta-Tawo has also put himself in the conversation for the Biletnikoff Award, presented each year by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation to the nation's top receiver regardless of position.
