
Peterson on Wade Trophy Watch List

Ranks eighth in program history with 1,389 career points scored
LILBURN, Ga. – Senior guard Alexis Peterson of the Syracuse women's basketball team was named to the watch list for the 2017 Wade Trophy, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced on Thursday morning. The Wade Trophy is awarded annually to the nation's best women's basketball player in NCAA Division I competition.
A child and family studies major in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, Peterson is adding to her already impressive list of accolades this year. The Columbus, Ohio native collected Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors and was named to the watch lists for the 2017 Nancy Lieberman Award and 2017 Naismith Trophy.
Peterson leads the conference and ranks among the nation's leaders in scoring, averaging 22.8 points per game this season. The senior guard ranks eighth in program history with 1,389 points scored in her collegiate career.
Peterson and the Orange return to court on Sunday afternoon against Central Connecticut State. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, as well.
Sunday's game is Faith and Family Day in the Carrier Dome. The first 'Cuse Carnival of the 2016-17 season will take place in the backcourt, hosted by the Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
