'Cuse set to host Blue Devils Sept. 2
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange football team's 2017 non-conference schedule is complete.
Syracuse will host FCS opponent Central Connecticut State in the season opener for both teams Sept. 2 at the Carrier Dome, the schools announced on Thursday, Dec. 22.
CCSU is a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC) and finished 2-9 in 2016 under head coach Pete Rossomando. The game will mark the first meeting between the Orange and Blue Devils, and represents Syracuse's second-ever matchup with a current NEC member. In 2013, the Orange defeated Wagner, 54-0.
In addition to the Blue Devils, the Orange host Middle Tennessee (Sept. 9) and Central Michigan (Sept. 16) in non-conference home games next season. They also pay a visit to LSU on Sept. 23.
In ACC play, the Orange are scheduled to host Boston College, Clemson, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest. Syracuse will face Florida State, Louisville, Miami and NC State on the road. The conference portion of next year's schedule is expected to be released in late January or early February.
Orange football season-ticket holders can renew their seats for next season before March 10 by logging into their MyCuse account or calling 888-DOMETIX. New 2017 Orange football season tickets are on sale as well, and can be purchased for as little as $125 (less than $20 per game) by visiting Cuse.com/tickets.
