Women's Hoops Matches Highest Rank in History

Syracuse ranks No. 18 nationally in USA Today Coaches Poll
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's basketball team matched its highest rank in program history on Tuesday afternoon, checking in at No. 18 nationally in the latest release of the USA Today Coaches Poll.

After defeating Virginia and NC State on the road last week, Syracuse moved up four spots in the most current coaches' rankings. It marks the second time in school history has been ranked No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, previously reaching the mark during the 2012-13 campaign.

The Orange also made their return to the top 25 of the Associated Press Poll. In the latest rankings release, SU ranks No. 23 nationally in the AP Poll.

Syracuse will complete its regular season home slate on Thursday night when it hosts No. 10/9 Florida State. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome. The game will be broadcast on the Regional Sports Networks, as well.

Thursday's game against the Seminoles also marks the team's annual Senior Day. The Orange will recognize Brianna Butler, Cornelia Fondren, Taylor Ford, Maggie Morrison, Aliyah Parris, and Brittney Sykes prior to the start of the contest.
