In their last game, the Orange defeated Pittsburgh, 70-56, on Feb. 21. With its win, Syracuse recorded its 12th conference victory, its most as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Senior guard Brianna Butler led the way with 20 points against the Panthers.
Â
Boston College comes into Thursday's contest with a 14-13 overall record and 2-12 mark in conference competition. In their last game, the Eagles lost against Louisville, 55-45, on Feb. 21. Junior guard Kelly Hughes had a team-high 14 points in the setback.
Â
Records Continue to Fall at Pittsburgh
The records have continued to be broken as Syracuse nears the end of the 2015-16 regular season. With its 70-56 victory at Pittsburgh on Feb. 21, Syracuse continued to etch its name in the record books.
Â
The Orange have won a program-record eight conference games in-a-row, with their last loss coming on Jan. 25 against No. 14/17 Louisville. With one game remaining in the regular season, Syracuse has already won 22 games and 12 contests in Atlantic Coast Conference competition. A victory at Boston College in its regular season finale would match the program record in regular season wins and conference victories.
Â
Individually, junior guard Alexis Peterson became the program's 26th 1,000-point scorer against the Panthers. Peterson is the 10th player to reach the milestone under Hillsman and third player on the current Orange roster. Senior guard Brianna Butler also made history, as she now ranks 20th in NCAA Division I history with 342 career 3-point field goals.
Â
Last Time Out
Syracuse defeated Pittsburgh, 70-56, on the road on Feb. 18 at the Petersen Events Center. With the win, Syracuse has won its past eight games, the fifth-longest active winning streak among Power Five programs.
Â
Syracuse trailed Pittsburgh by six points after the opening quarter. It was all Orange after the first 10 minutes, as the team outscored its opposition, 54-34, over the remainder of regulation.
Â
Syracuse knocked down 29-of-59 shots, 49.2 percent of its field goal attempts. It marked the Orange's third best shooting outing of the 2015-16 season. SU capitalized off the Panthers' 21 turnovers, notching 28 points off their misfortunes, as well.
Â
Senior guard Brianna Butler led the team with 20 points on the day, her fifth 20-point contest of the year. Butler made four 3-point field goals at Pittsburgh, which puts her in 20th place in NCAA Division I history with 342 career 3-pointers.
