
Three Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senior Kayla Treanor headlines a group of three Syracuse players named to the 2016 Tewaaraton Award Watch List announced on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Treanor, a two-time finalist for the award which is presented to the top female and male collegiate lacrosse players in the nation, is joined on the Watch List by seniors Erica Bodt and Halle Majorana.
Treanor leads the Orange and ranks fifth in the nation in scoring with 16 points. In addition, her 12.67 draw controls per game is the highest total in the country. Treanor was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award in 2014 and 2015. She is a three-time IWLCA All-America First Team selection as well as a two-time IWLCA Attacker of the Year. The ACC named Treanor its Offensive Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015. She is also a two-time All-ACC First Team honoree.
Bodt recorded career highs in ever nearly every statistical category last season when she recorded 23 points on 21 goals and two assists. She also caused 11 turnovers and picked up 18 ground balls. The midfielder has four goals in three games this season, including two in the season opener against No. 13 Loyola.
Majorana ranks seventh in the nation in points (15) and 13th in goals (10) this season. She earned first-time IWLCA All-America honors in 2015 when tied for fifth in the nation in scoring with 91 points on 55 goals and 36 assists. Majorana was named to the All-ACC First Team and earned a spot on the ACC All-Tournament Team.
Watch list additions, if applicable, will be announced on March 17 and April 7. On April 28, the field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees. Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced on May 12. The 16th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held in Washington, D.C., on June 2.
