
Women's Hoops Earns Third Seed

Syracuse earned the third seed for the ACC Tournament
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Syracuse University women's basketball earned the third seed for the upcoming 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum, the conference officially announced on Sunday evening.

With a third-place finish, Syracuse earned a double-bye and will not play until the quarterfinals of the conference tournament on Friday, March 4. The game is slated for an 8 p.m. start and will be televised on the Regional Sports Networks.

The Orange will play one of three teams in the quarterfinal round; No. 6 seed NC State, No. 11 seed Virginia Tech, or No. 14 seed Boston College. Virginia Tech and Boston College will meet on Wednesday, March 2 in the opening round, with the winner playing NC State the following day. Thursday's second-round winner will take on the Orange.

Syracuse finished its regular season with a 23-6 overall record, matching the program record for most regular season wins. In addition, the Orange earned their highest finish as a member of the ACC, following a school-record 13 conference victories.
