Syracuse will host first and second round contests for the first time in program history
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's basketball is in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth-straight year and will host first and second round contests in the Carrier Dome for the first time in program history.
Syracuse (25-7) is the No. 4 seed in the Sioux Falls Region, its best seed in school history, and will play No. 13 seed Army West Point (29-2) on Friday, March 18 at 2:30 p.m. in the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome. The other first-round matchup in the Carrier Dome pits No. 5 seed Florida (22-8) and No. 12 seed Albany (27-4) at noon. Both games will be televised on ESPN2. The winners will meet in the second round on Sunday, March 20 with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
All 2015-16 Orange women's basketball season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase seats, which the NCAA sells in a reserved seating format, beginning on Monday at 8 p.m. The next opportunity to purchase tickets will go to all current Syracuse University athletics donors; 2015-16 season ticket holders for men's basketball, football and men's lacrosse; and those who purchased women's basketball group tickets in 2015-16. That group will have access to purchase tickets at 10 p.m. on Monday. Individuals in these groups will receive an email from the Carrier Dome box office with details to purchase tickets through a MyCuse account.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
