Orange concludes spring practice April 2 at the Carrier Dome
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In a little more than two weeks, fans will have the opportunity to preview new head coach Dino Babers' squad when the Orange wraps up spring practice with the 2016 Syracuse Football Spring Scrimmage on Saturday, April 2 at the Carrier Dome. The event features something for everyone, including selfie stations and a free youth clinic, in addition to the team's live scrimmage.
Â
Gates open at 10 a.m. and admission is free. Fans will receive a concession voucher for a free hot dog and soda (while supplies last). The scrimmage starts at 11 a.m. with the offense squaring off against the defense from a variety of spots on the field. After the scrimmage, fans will be invited onto the Carrier Dome turf for pictures and selfies with their favorite Orange players.
Â
The post-scrimmage festivities include a special treat for kids in eighth grade or younger. They are invited to join a group of Syracuse football alumni on the field for a free skills clinic. Organized by former receiver Donte Davis, the clinic features several past Orange greats as instructors. Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowler Chandler Jones is expected to attend. So are New York Giants defensive tackle Jay Bromley, former NFL players Jameel McClain and Doug Hogue, and many more.
Â
In addition to the action on the field, Syracuse's annual 'Select-A-Seat' event will be going on throughout the day. Fans will have the opportunity to walk the Dome and choose the best available seat locations for 2016 season tickets. A sampling of available seats will be marked in each section and members of the Carrier Dome Box Office staff will be on hand to assist with the selection process and answer any questions.
Â
Fans wishing to purchase tickets that day can do so at the Dome Box Office.
Â
The 2016 season gets underway Friday, Sept. 2 at home against Colgate. This year's schedule features six home dates, including conference games against Louisville, Virginia Tech, NC State and Florida State.
Â
Season tickets are on sale now online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Tickets start at $99 ($16.50 per game) with lower-level seats in the end zones available for as little as $125.
