Treanor, Majorana Earn All-America Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse seniors Kayla Treanor and Halle Majorana have been selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America team. Treanor earned first-team accolades for the fourth consecutive year, while Majorana was voted to the second team.

Treanor is the first four-time IWLCA All-America First Team honoree in program history. In addition, she becomes just the fifth Syracuse student-athlete to earn first-team All-America honors all four years of her career. Treanor joins the exclusive group, which includes wrestler Gene Mills, swimmers Liz Vilbert and Miroslav Vucetic and men's lacrosse player Mike Powell.

This season, Treanor ranks 13th in the nation in points (84) and eighth in assists (38). She leads the Orange in points, goals (46) and assists. In addition, Treanor leads the nation in draw controls per game (8.95). Her 197 draw controls this season rank second on the NCAA Division I single-season leader list. Treanor is a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award for the third straight year and earned her third consecutive ACC Offensive Player of the Year award. She was voted to the All-ACC First Team as well as the ACC All-Tournament Team. Treanor ranks fourth on the NCAA Division I all-time scoring list with 387 points and is tied for eighth all-time in career goals with 256.

Majorana earns All-America honors for the second straight year. She ranks second on the team in points (70) and assists (30) and is fourth in goals (40). Majorana tallied seven points in a game twice and recorded four or more points in a game nine times this season. She was named to the ACC All-Tournament team after recording four goals and three assists against No. 3 North Carolina in the title game.

Syracuse tries to return to the national semifinals for the fifth consecutive year on Saturday, May 21 when it hosts No. 5 USC in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals. Opening draw in the Carrier Dome is set for 3 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, students with ID and youth. Parking is free in the Dome West lots.
