SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse senior Kayla Treanor and freshman Nicole Levy have received national recognition for their performance throughout the 2016 season. Treanor was named the Attacker of the Year by Inside Lacrosse, while Lacrosse Magazine tabbed Levy the Rookie of the Year.
Â
Treanor, who was also named to Lacrosse Magazine's All-America squad, tallied a team-leading 90 on the season, with 50 goals and 40 assists. Throughout her career, she notched 393 points, which rank fourth on the NCAA Division I all-time scoring list and second in program history. The Niskayuna, N.Y. native also dominated the draw circle, setting a Division I single-season record with 217 draw controls. In her four years in an Orange jersey, Syracuse reached the national semifinals each year and advanced to one national championship game.
Â
The most decorated player in Syracuse history, Treanor earned first-team All-America honors all four years of her career. In addition, she is the only student-athlete to be named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year three straight years.
Â
Levy adds to her list of Rookie of the Year honors, which also includes recognition from the ACC and ECAC. She was named to the Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie team as well. Levy finished the season with 68 points, a mark that was second in the nation amongst all freshmen.Â
Â
Treanor and Levy both earned a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team. Treanor had a five-point performance in a dramatic 12-11 overtime win against USC in the national quarterfinal. Levy registered two goals and two assists in the national semifinal against No. 1 Maryland.Â
