Eight Earn 2016 IRA All-Academic Honors

Conroy collects third honor of his collegiate career
PRINCETON, N.J. – Eight members of the 2016 Syracuse University men's rowing team earned 2016 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) All-Academic Team accolades, as announced by USRowing on Tuesday.
David Conroy, Molly Kollman, Andrew Reichard, Dominic Santora, James Schiera, Bryce Vanderberg, Hannah Wagner, and Nick Walker all earned IRA All-Academic Team honors. It marked the second straight season that Reichard and Vanderberg earned such accolades, while Conroy closed his collegiate career with his third honor.
To be eligible for the IRA All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be of sophomore standing, held a 3.35 cumulative grade point average, and participated in the 2016 IRA Championship Regatta.
The 2016 season was a successful one for the Orange. Syracuse recorded its best finish in the first varsity eight competition at the IRA Championship Regatta since a fifth-place showing in 2012. The team also cracked the top 10 of the coaches' poll for the first time in four years. In addition, the club claimed the Packard Cup for the first time since 2012.
