
In-State Showdown Set for Dec. 10

Syracuse and Niagara will meet for the 14th time
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In its final home non-conference contest of the 2016-17 regular season, the Syracuse University women's basketball team will host in-state foe Niagara on Saturday, Dec. 10. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse owns a 9-4 overall record against Niagara. The Orange have won each of the past three contests between the two programs. The last meeting between the two teams came during the 2013-14 season.
In the last matchup, forward Isabella Slim knocked down five 3-point field goals en route to a career-high 17 points, leading Syracuse to an 80-44 win on Dec. 19, 2013. Guard Brittney Sykes contributed 20 points, as well.
The Orange women's basketball team is coming off its best season in its history, advancing all the way to the 2016 national final. SU set program records with five wins against nationally-ranked foes, 13 conference victories, 23 regular-season wins, and 30 overall victories.
